the arrangement of elements in an image/shot

points- a strategy used to manipulate the viewers gaze. simple way to get viewers to look at a certain point. rule of thirds and the golden triangle.

lines-the fundamental element of composition. can use the lines to point to the key part of the scene

shapes- creates a frame within your shot or to create a sense of order

space- the leading room. positive and negative room

depth- gives a more 3d feeling creating a sense of realism. foreground, middle ground, background 

balance- symmetry, rule of odds 

angles- what and how we see something. 

colour and tone- can direct the viewers eyes,
